Today, the Google letters are celebrating Christmas (http://www.google.com). The mother is knitting, the father is drinking coffee (or maybe hot chocolate), and the kids are opening their presents and playing.

Today, on Google (www.google.com), in celebration of New Year's Eve, a bunch of balloons are bouncing up and down in a net near the ceiling, waiting for the clock to strike midnight.

Today, on Google (www.google.com), to celebrate New Year's Day, the balloons that were in the net yesterday have been released and are falling to the ground. They all have different expressions, and one is even wearing a party hat and appears to be drunk.

Re: Google Doodles
Until tomorrow (February 14th), there is a new cartoon on Google (http://www.google.com) to celebrate Valentine's Day. It features two pangolins (sometimes called "scaly anteaters") who are having a long-distance romance. The male is writing letters to his sweetheart, and the female is opening them. The cute little animals in the cartoon remind me of Dino, the dinosaur on "The Flintstones."
Google developed a series of four short video games called "Pangolin Love," which shows how the male pangolin prepared to meet the female, but it doesn't play on my computer. It's similar to the "Sonic the Hedgehog" video game that was popular many years ago. You can find some videos of "Pangolin Love" on YouTube.
The following links give a little background about each of the four videos mentioned above:

-- Day 4: http://www.google.com/doodles/valentines-day-2017-day-4

Re: Google Doodles
There's a new animated cartoon on Google (http://www.google.com) today to celebrate the discovery of seven earth-sized planets.
In the cartoon, the second "o" in "google" (which looks like our planet) is looking through a telescope at night and sees one of the new planets. Then the other six planets, all of which have faces, join the first, and one of them waves. In response, the Google "o" makes some faces (to express surprise, etc.) and a smaller circle, probably representing our moon, which has been watching all along, raises its hands to show its approval.

Re: Google Doodles
Google doesn't have any new doodles today, but I wanted to tell you something.
Normally, doodles only appear on Google for one day (the date on which my original note is posted), and then they're transferred to the Google Archives. You can find many of the older ones here:
-- https://www.google.com/doodles?q=United%20States
-- https://www.google.com/doodles?q=interactive
Google also developed a PAC-MAN doodle game. To see and play it, click here: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=pa ... gle+doodle&*
According to PC magazine: "Game play is exactly the same as you might remember it from those days sticking coins into an arcade cabinet; use the keyboard arrow keys to change direction, and press two at once to move diagonally." (Source: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2479675,00.asp)

There's a new animated on cartoon on Google (http://www.google.com) today to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Two shamrocks give a "high five" as they pass each other on the way up and down the 600 steps that lead to the top of the mystical Skellig Michael, a remote island just off the coast of Country Kerry, Ireland.
For additional background information about the above cartoon, including another version of it, click here: http://www.google.com/doodles/st-patricks-day-2017.

There's a new animated cartoon on Google (http://www.google.com) today to celebrate the first day of spring. In it, a little animal (it looks like a mouse, but hops and has a long tail) is asleep in his bed underground. Then he wakes up and realizes that it's spring, so he hops out of his hole, picks a flower and drags it into his house, puts the flower in a vase, climbs into bed, pulls up the covers, and goes back to sleep.

There's a new animated cartoon on Google (www.google.com) today entitled "Cassini Spacecraft Dives Between Saturn and Its Rings!" In it, the little spacecraft takes some pictures with its camera as the planet flies by. Then it smiles, looks around to see if it's alone, turns the camera toward itself, makes a silly face, and snaps a selfie.

There's a new animated cartoon on Google (http://www.google.com) today to celebrate Teachers' Day. In it, a teacher (the letter "g") and his students (all of the other Google letters) are standing in front of a screen (shaped like a blackboard) while pictures representing astronomy, science, agriculture, math, and weather flash behind them.
